Editorial Policy
CalcIndia publishes free calculators and educational guides for people in India. This page explains how we create content, verify calculations, handle updates, and correct errors. Our goal is practical, accurate information — not generic filler text.
What we publish
- Interactive calculators for loans, tax, investments, GST, land units, and post office schemes
- Plain-English guides with formulas, worked examples, and FAQs on every calculator page
- Trust pages (About, Contact, Privacy, Terms, Disclaimer) and occasional blog articles
How calculator content is written
Each calculator page includes an original guide covering what the tool does, why you would use it, the formula applied, step-by-step logic, real examples, tips, common mistakes, and limitations. Content is written for Indian context — FY 2025-26 tax slabs, India Post small savings rates, GST slabs, and local land measurement units.
We do not copy text from other websites. Guides are drafted from primary sources (RBI, Income Tax Department notifications, India Post rate tables, standard financial formulas) and reviewed for clarity.
How calculations are verified
- Formula source — We document the formula on each page (EMI reducing balance, SIP future value, quarterly FD compounding, etc.).
- Cross-check — Results are compared against spreadsheet calculations and, where applicable, official bank or government examples.
- Edge cases — Zero inputs, minimum deposits, tenure caps, and rounding behaviour are tested manually before publishing.
- Rate updates — Post office and tax-related content is reviewed when notified rates or slabs change. Each page shows a last-updated date when applicable.
Calculators provide estimates for planning. Banks, post offices, and the income tax portal may round differently or apply fees not modelled here. Always confirm with your lender, branch, or chartered accountant before making financial decisions.
Post office & tax rate updates
India Post revises small savings scheme rates quarterly. Income tax slabs and standard deductions change with each Union Budget. We update indicative rates in our post office calculators and tax tools when official notifications are published. Users should verify live rates onindiapost.gov.in or theincome tax portal before investing or filing.
Corrections & feedback
If you spot an error in a formula, rate, or explanation, email us at[email protected]. We investigate reported issues and update pages with a revised last-updated date when corrections are made.
